We were blessed with the addition of two new kittens into our lives in 2007. For Christmas, we dressed them in their Christmas finest.
The kitten on the top is Amber Brown, or Ammy. She is named after a famous children's book character by Paula Danziger. Ammy is a chocolate point Siamese. Paula Danziger signed a copy of The Cat Ate My Gymsuit for my daughter, Elise. She wrote: "Dear Elise, May your cat never eat your socks. Love, Paula" (The cat chewed them anyway and buried them in the litterbox.)
The critter on the bottom is Junie B., of the hilarious Junie B. children's book series by Barbara Parks. She lives up to her namesake too well! She is a seal point Siamese.
The two girls, aka "Double Trouble," are littermates, born in February 2007, at Blue Eyed Six Cattery in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Both kittens are terrific writing assistants, demanding constant attention, knocking pens and pencils onto the floor, walking across the computer keyboard to add their thoughts, screaming for treats, chasing bugs and moths throughout the house, stealing and hiding stuffed animals, licking our eyelids and skin to awaken us, and bringing pleasure during long writer's blocks. Life wouldn't be the same without them! Thank goodness!
